Current Disposal Methods

Have you ever wondered where the disposable masks you throw away every day end up?

Have you ever considered what else we could do with discarded masks than throw them away?

Incineration

Incineration of discarded disposable masks produces large amounts of greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming, leading to extreme weather events that endanger human health and well-being.

Landfill

Discarded disposable masks in landfills can lead to the deposition of contaminants, which can contaminate soil and groundwater and ultimately affect human health.

Discard indiscriminately

Discarded masks on the streets not only affect the aesthetics of the city, but also increase the risk of people being exposed to viral infections.

Flow into the ocean

According to relevant statistics, about 4 billion masks are discarded every day, some of which end up in the ocean through wind and water currents. The ocean probably receives about 1.5 billion disposable masks each year.

Penguins, seagulls, and marine creatures try to fill their bellies, mistaking masks for sea fish or jellyfish and eventually blocking their esophagus.

Endangering animals

The muzzle straps wrap over the animals' feet, wings, mouths, and noses, impeding their movement and even slowly killing them. These microplastics, which are mistakenly ingested by animals, end up circulating through the food chain and being consumed by humans themselves.
